Your laughter rings within my ears
Your smile shines so bright
Your sorrows you hide with your eyes
I see in a clear light
Your words ring out so truthfully
When offering advice
Your honesty about your heart
Proves you are too nice
I wish to walk along your side
Upon a sunset beach
So maybe this soft heart you have
To me you can then teach
For mine is hardened beyond hope
It hides within a shell
If I can’t find its freedom then
I know I’ll live in hell
You hear me rail against lost love
Your ear you gladly lend
Without complaint and with such care
This proves you are my friend
